I spoke recently with Adriana Delgado of the Palm Beach Post about my experiences at Dreyfoos School of the Arts, winning the Palm Beach County Pathfinder Award in Literature , and writing The Parting Glass. So much of who I am today comes from going to an artistically and educationally rigorous high school like Dreyfoos, and I was happy to talk about how my early experiences there shaped me and taught me to be resilient. The article also looks back at my 2000 Pathfinder win, after which I was featured in the Palm Beach Post as a young artist to watch. It’s so amazing to see these elements of my writing life come full circle! You can read the full interview here.
I got to speak with Sarah Johnson at Reading the Past about The Parting Glass. Check out our interview, in which we discuss what inspired me to write the novel, how I researched the book, and what historical fiction inspires me.
The Parting Glass will be out in the world on March 5th, less than two months from now! As we gear up for Pub Day, Atria Books is giving away 15 advance copies on Goodreads. Enter now for your chance to snag one before the rest of the world!
This is a great week for pulling together loose threads and weaving something pretty! Not only did I get my amazing headshots back from the talented L.M. Pane, but I was able to finalize some content and get this site officially launched. I can now also link to my Debut Authors '19 profile page, and now I look like a real human on the internet. Shameless self-promotion aside, I've now seen the final cover and the interior design concepts for The Parting Glass and all I can say is . . . wow! The design team at Touchstone has outdone themselves! I cannot wait to share the reveal, so watch this space!
In which, incidentally, a debutante is one of the main characters.
